Meet the Coaches!
Amber Hauck - Varsity Head Coach
Amber has a long cheerleading career, starting at Wagar Middle School and continuing through the ACP to eventually end her career with the Michigan State University All-Girl Competitive Cheerleading Team. She graduated from MSU with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology. While attending Airport, Amber recieved a 4-Year Varsity Letter Plaque, 2 Jet Pride Awards, First-Team All Huron League Honors, and won a Regional Championship. Amber credits cheerleading with teaching her leadership skills, self-confidence, and other lessons that have impacted her life in the most positive way. Amber hopes to teach each and every cheerleader to set goals and never give up until they achieve those goals. Amber took over the program at the beginning of the 2013-2014 Competitive Cheerleading Season and focuses on progress, not perfection. She has big plans for the program and says she's excited for the future of ACP!
Sarah Lott - JV Head Coach
Sarah also is a proud ACP alumni, starting her career at Wagar Middle School as well! Sarah spent all 4 years at Airport High School on the Varsity Sideline and Competitive Cheerleading teams. While attending Airport she recieved many awards including a 4 Year Varsity Letter Plaque and First-Team All-Huron League and First-Team All District! Sarah served as the Assistant Coach to the Varsity team for the 2012-2013 and also the Head Coach of the 2013 Sideline Varsity Team. She began head coaching at WMS for the 2013-2014 Competitive Season. Sarah co-head coached the JV Sideline and Competitive Seasons of 2015-2016 and became the JV Head Coach Sideline of 2016!
Richard Hauck - Conditioning Coach
Coach Ric has been around cheerleading for the past 11 years! Ric specializes in strength and conditioning for the Varsity team. He has created a conditioning program specially designed for the needs of CHEERLEADERS! Ric also handles a lot of the planning and fundraising, so if you ever have any opportunities for fundraisers please feel free to contact him at acpbelieve@gmail.com!
Our Coaching Philosophy
Our philosophy is to commit 100% to making both the individual cheerleaders and the program the best they can be. We will share our passion and excitement as well as our knowledge of cheerleading. We will take one day at a time and face challenges with a can-do attitude. We strive for progress, not perfection, because we believe there is always room to grow and prosper. Most importantly, we will never, ever give up. We take pride in Airport Cheerleading and we will work every day to see the success of the program.
Alexis Kopchia - Varsity Assistant Coach
Kopchia is an alumni of Carlson High School where she holds 4 State Championship Titles. Alexis is currently attending Henry Ford and works at Downriver Gymnastics where she specializes in tumbling and jumps and flexibility classes. Alexis is the former head coach of Shumate Middle School until moving to Airport Varsity assistant during the 2015-2016 Competitive Season. Alexis has brought a great viewpoint to our team and we can't wait to see what else she can teach us!
