Elite Team

The ACP Elite Team, created in 2014 by Coach Amber Hauck, is the highest honor a member of the ACP can achieve. Members of the Elite Team have executed the hardest, legal tumbling skill in MHSAA Cheerleading, the full twisting layout. Each member has landed this skill unassisted as witnessed by an official coach of ACP.

Desi Reyes

Desi is the first ACP cheerleader to be inducted into the Elite Team. Desi's time at Airport was filled with numerous awards and honors. Desi executed and landed a full twisting layout for the first time during the warm-ups of the Huron League Meet as witnessed by Coach Ric.

During her senior season, Desi faced multiple injuries, including a devastating fall at Districts. Desi's example of perseverance inspired her team to rally together and pull through 3rd round, bringing the crowd to their feet. Desi's inspiration will continue on in her teammates after she has graduated, showing her true leadership abilities as a true Elite member.

Desi will continue her cheerleading career after graduation at Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI. We look forward to seeing her compete on the national collegiate level!

Carlie Scott

Carlie Scott is a current Sophomore at Airport High School. Carlie is the first Freshman to be inducted into the ACP Elite Team. Carlie landed a full twisting layout first as a Wagar Middle School athlete, but did not qualify until the League Meet at Huron High School in 2016 as witnessed by Coach Amber and the entire crowd.

Carlie's freshman season with ACP was filled with adversity and mental blocks, but showing true mental toughness Carlie pushed through and executed her full flawlessly at both the League Meet and Districts! Carlie has 3 more years left with ACP and we can't wait to see what the future holds.

Brittany Mulvin

Brittany Mulvin earned her Elite Team Honors as a Freshman during the Competitive Season of 2017-2018. Brittany executed numerous Full Twists in Round 3, beginning at the Monroe Invitational all the way through to districts.

Brittany and our next Elite Team Athlete, Shawna were put up to the challenge neither could complete at Wagar, preform their Fulls in Round 3. Not only did both athletes step up to the challenge, they both preformed them with flawless timing, finishing out the opening tumbling sequences. Brittany was first to step up at practice, challenging both Carlie and Shawna to follow in her footsteps!

Brittany has 3 more years with ACP and we cannot wait to see what else she can do!

Shawna Smith

Shawna Smith earned her Elite Team Honors as a Freshman during the Competitive Season of 2017-2018. Shawna executed numerous Full Twists in Round 3, beginning at the Monroe Invitational all the way through to districts.

Shawna was given the same challenge as Brittany early in the season, preform Fulls in Round 3. Well, Shawna waited until the last second to show her strength. Shawna finally stepped up to the plate the Thursday practice before Monroe! Shawna is known not only for her half of this amazing tumbling pass, but also for her "preparation" behind the scenes. If you ever see an ACP athlete smacking their head against the wall, don't worry, it's just Shawna.

With 3 more years left at ACP, we are excited to see what the future holds for Shawna!
